Goal 1

Highly motivated, well-educated teachers provide quality education for students at all levels, pre-kindergarten through adult.

 

Objectives

Ø The population of qualified teachers represents the diversity of the nation.  
Ø  The number of teachers qualified to teach agriculture and natural resources courses meets the global demand.  
Ø  Preparation programs for agriculture and natural resources teachers provide innovative practice in educational and agricultural methods.  
Ø  Programs for preparing all elementary, secondary and adult teachers include instruction in agriculture and natural resources concepts. 
Ø  Training programs for school administrators and counselors include information on agriculture and natural resources systems.  
Ø  National and state educational leaders provide relevant instructional leadership and professional development opportunities for teachers.  
Ø  Teachers use all relevant educational technologies to enhance the learning process.

Objectives

Ø  All teachers include the study of agriculture and natural resources in a relevant, integrated instructional approach.
Ø Agricultural educators cooperate with teachers in all instructional disciplines for cross-curricular instruction and course development.
Ø Agriculture educators collaborate with other groups to bring information on agriculture and natural resources to all students at all grade levels.

Partnerships and strategic alliances ensure a continuous presence of education in and about agriculture and natural resources.

 

Objectives  

Ø Positive working relationships with multiple stakeholders build lines of communication and provide a diverse work force for the agriculture and natural resources systems.  
Ø A broad-based coalition of groups and organizations collaborate to develop and disseminate contemporary agriculture and natural resources curricula for all students.  
Ø Partnerships and strategic alliances strengthen the system of public and private support for agriculture and natural resources education. 
Ø Educators for the agriculture and natural resources  systems engage numerous stakeholders in a continuous effort to develop a shared vision, mission and goals.
