DESCRIPTION:Calling all teachers with 2-7 years of experience and more experienced teachers who feel they need to FIRE UP!! \nEmily Whipple and Colin Kubik present to you strategies to take care of themselves and have better mental health without losing productivity. \n \nTruth: We can only be of service to others\, excel in our professions\, and make a lasting impact if we prioritize our own well-being. \nImagine\, if you will\, a story of the Starving Baker. This baker was a master of his craft\, renowned for creating delectable pastries that delighted the palates of all who tasted them. However\, there was a problem that he couldn’t solve. He was so committed to his work that he often forgot to nourish himself properly. He worked tirelessly through the night\, neglecting sleep\, and surviving on the bare minimum of food and water. His bakery thrived\, but his health deteriorated. Eventually\, he found himself too weak to even bake\, let alone enjoy the fruits of his labor. He had sacrificed his well-being for his passion\, and the cost was too high. \n“Fire Up” is a wake-up call to rekindle the fire within you and fuel it with self-care and self-improvement. In this session\, we will explore the art of balancing work and life\, learning how to be more productive without sacrificing our physical and mental health. We will discuss the importance of self-awareness\, setting boundaries\, and embracing self-compassion. By the end of this session\, you will have the tools and knowledge to nurture yourself\, so you can continue to nurture and support others\, just like the Starving Baker learned the hard way. \nRegister here one week prior to the event. DESCRIPTION:Across Nebraska\, farm to school is taking shape in Classrooms\, Cafeterias\, and Communities. Tribal partners have worked with the NDE to develop the Nebraska Harvest of the Month Indigenous Foods program and development of resources being used throughout classrooms\, including FCS and Agriculture Education. Learn how isantee Community Schools is teaching about food sovereignty by using native plants to test Harvest of the Month (HOM) recipes with students and leveraging the HOM Indigenous Foods resources. Also hear success stories for these materials in schools across the state that participated in the Local and Indigenous Foods Training to expand student involvement in farm to school. \nWebinar will be recorded. \n
