Agricultural educators know that preparing the next generation for Nebraska’s largest industry is a responsibility that requires them to be at the top of their game. Sharpen your skills as a professional, increase your knowledge of advances in agriculture, and expand your ability to make a difference by participating in professional development opportunities!

PD: Onsite Professional Development

Onsite Inservice PD Sessions Include:

  • Briggs and Stratton Workshop – May 23-25, 2023, Norris High School. Contact Colin for details and register here.
  • Basic Woodworking – May 25-27, 2023, Maxwell High School. Contact Dr. White for details and register here.
  • Nebraska Career Education (NCE) Conference – June 5 – 8, 2023, Kearney, NE. The NCE Conference is a professional development learning opportunity featuring national and state CTE leaders. The focus of the conference will be to address current and ongoing themes related to CTE instruction. Sponsored by the Nebraska Department of Education, Nebraska Career Education and in cooperation with the Association for Career and Technical Education of Nebraska.
  • Delta Conference – July 9 – 14, 2023, at Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, Curtis, NE. Agricultural educators from Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado will gather for five days of instruction focusing on increasing student engagement through lesson design and facilitation, including teaching methodology and engagement, leadership and personal development, and how to build connections and influence our school, community, and state.   • NAAE Region III Conference – June 19 – 21, 2023, Alexandria, MN.
  • Guide Conference – June 21 – 22, 2023, at UNL’s East Campus. An educator’s conference focused on teaching with an entrepreneurial mindset, powered by the Engler Entrepreneurship Program. More information at Guide Conference.
  • Food Science CASE Institute – June 26 – July 6, 2023, at Wayne High School, hosted by UNL.  Registration and additional CASE Institutes at teachcase.org. Registration runs Jan 5 – April 15, 2023.
  • Briggs and Stratton Workshop – July 25 – 27, 2023, at Scottsbluff High School. Contact Dr. Troy White for information. Register here.
  • Ag Ed Bootcamp – July 26 – 29, 2023, at NCTA. Hands on, interactive activities to give you a strong background in a variety of areas.  More information to come.
  • 2023 NAAE Convention – November 28 – December 2, 2023, in Pheonix, AZ. Held in conjunction with ACTE’s CareerTech VISION, NAAE members have access to both conventions for one price. NAAE schedule to come!

PDWs: Professional Development Webinars

Live Online Inservice : Come join the virtual fun by attending a live PDW or viewing a previously recorded session. PDWs can be hosted by anyone (teacher, industry partner, state staff, college faculty, etc), so check back often for the latest list!

Professional Development Scholarships, 2023

Scholarships for Professional Development completed during the summer months. Funds can be used to pay for 50% of any PD registration costs OR 50% of equipment costs. Watch for scholarship application and more information in early spring. Scholarships are awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
